SRINAGAR: There was a grenade attack on a police vehicle at the Naaz crossing in Srinagar on Monday.

Earlier, security forces foiled a militants' plan to set off an explosion when they unearthed an improvised explosive device in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said.

The IED, inside a small voltage stabilizer, was planted by militants on the Baramulla-Baba Reshi road, about 200 feet from the Srinagar-Baramulla national highway apparently to target security forces, the sources said.

Security forces detected the IED while patrolling the link road in the morning. The area was cordoned off and the bomb disposal squad neutralized the IED.
