Dr. Reddy's gets initial nod for hypertension drugs

MUMBAI: Indian drug maker Dr. Reddy's Laboratories has received tentative approval from the US Food and Drug Administration for amlodipine maleate and benazepril hydrochloride capsules in multiple strengths.   

 

Amlodipine, the generic equivalent of Pfizer's Norvasc, is used to treat high blood pressure and chest pain.   

 

Benazepril is prescribed for high blood pressure.
