MUMBAI: The Maharashtra Government on Thursday decided to stay baseline tests in primary schools of local self-government bodies.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the state cabinet here on Thursday, chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh said.
A final decision on the issue would be taken after a meeting of parents, teachers and educational experts, he said.
The state government had July 26 stayed such tests in private schools in the state following opposition from teachers and parents.
