Two militants killed in encounter in J&K

SRINAGAR: Three Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) militants were killed on Saturday in an encounter with security forces in Handwara area of Jammu and Kashmir, a Defence spokesman said.

 

The Pakistani militants were holed up in a house at Ringpaith in Handwara, the spokesman said.

 

Meanwhile, an official spokesman said police smashed a hideout of Hizbul Mujahideen in the forest area of Brinal Balmarg in Tral area of Pulwama district on Friday night and recovered arms and ammunition among other things.

 

Security forces arrested one Shabir Ahmad Dar after recovering a hand grenade from his motorcycle in Pattan area of Baramulla district, the spokesman said.
