German women break world relay record

BUDAPEST: The German women's 4x100 metres freestyle relay swimming team broke the world record on Monday at the European championships timing 3minutes 35.22seconds as they took the title.

The Germans broke the previous mark of 3:35.94 set by the Australians on August 14 2004 at the Olympics.

The Netherlands took silver while titleholders France finished third.
