NEW DELHI: Romesh Sharma, alleged frontman of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, was on Friday acquitted by a Delhi court in a seven-year-old case of extortion, criminal intimidation and robbery.
Additional Sessions Judge Vinod Kumar also acquitted his brother Harish Mishra and employees Vinod Luthra and Arvind Kumar Bali.
"The prosecution could not establish its case," the judge said. The case was registered against them in 1999 on the complaint of Mumbai-based architect Dinky Charles Mascarenhas.
