Four more battalions of the SSB deployed.

PATNA: That Bihar had become a convenient transit route for the ISI to push its men and material into India seems to have finally caused some serious concern to the Centre.
It has decided to deploy four additional battalions of the SSB (Sashatra Seema Bal), a para military force, to man the Indo-Nepal border passing through Bihar. So far only 7 battalions of SSB were manning the 735-kilometre long and porous Indo-Nepal border falling under Bihar.

On the directives of the Union Home Ministry, the Director General of SSB, Tilak Kak, is coming to Bihar on Monday (July 24) to discuss the deployment of his men with the state police top brass.

Bihar Police Chief Ashish Ranjan Sinha admits that the state government did not have the required resources to maintain a strict vigil on such a long and open border. He says even 11 battalions of SSB are inadequate to man the Nepal border passing through eight districts of the state. Bihar is once again in the news following the arrest of two men from Madhubani for their suspected involvement in the serial train blasts in Mumbai.
