NEW DELHI: Delhi police on Friday arrested one man and detained two children on charges of making hoax calls about bombs being placed at AIIMS on Wednesday

The bomb scare triggered panic and a massive search of the premier institute on Wednesday.

Lokesh Dahal, a medicine supplier from Uttam Nagar, was held as the calls were traced to his cell phone. Dahal, however, denied the charges and told police that the two school kids, who were his neighbours, made the phone call.

Police seized the mobile phone and detained the minors for questioning. The two school children are brothers and live next door to Dahal.

A series of hoax bomb threats and an email threatening to carry out attacks in the capital had led to searches at the India Gate, Red Fort, Akshardham Temple and Gurdwara Sis Ganj since the serial blasts in Mumbai suburban trains on July 11.
