Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf said "stalling the India-Pakistan peace process was "tantamount" to playing into hands of terrorists.
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf on Tuesday said that "stalling" of the India-Pakistan peace process in reaction to the terror attacks was "tantamount" to playing into the hands of terrorists.
"Any stalling of the peace process will be unfortunate and doing so because of the terrorist attacks would be tantamount to playing into the hands of terrorists," Musharraf told a National Security Council meeting here, reacting to postponement of foreign secretary level talks in the wake of the serial blasts in Mumbai and grenade attacks in Srinagar.
"We must not allow such terrorist acts to undermine this historic opportunity for lasting peace between Pakistan and India," state-run PTV quoted him as saying.
The channel said Musharraf gave an overview of the regional security situation in his address to the NSC meeting that was attended by the top brass of Pakistan military besides chief ministers and governors of the four provinces.
