Kumble headed for Surrey

MUMBAI: Indian leg-spinner Anil Kumble is all set to join Sourav Ganguly, Zaheer Khan and Dinesh Mongia in the English county championship. The 35-year-old will leave for England this weekend and join Surrey, who have won five out of eight matches, are currently top of the Liverpool Victoria County Championship division two, and are eagerly seeking promotion to division one.

Kumble signed for Surrey in December 2005 Kumble’s outstanding form with the ball will add an edge to an already potent bowling attack which includes spinners Nayan Doshi and fellow leg-spinner Ian Salisbury.

The Surrey pair have also been in superb form, having already taken 65 wickets between them this season. Former Pakistan international Azhar Mahmood is also part of the squad. The leg-spinner claimed 23 wickets in four Tests in West Indies .
