Ex-cop gets 15 years RI for raping minor

MUMBAI: A sessions court on Thursday sentenced dismissed police constable Chandrakant Pawar to 15 years rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor girl last year.

He was also sentenced to two years rigorous imprisonment on the charge of kidnapping the minor victim and one year RI on the charge of kidnapping with the intention to rape the victim.

Pawar was also sentenced to one-month RI on the charge of causing hurt to the victim

All the sentences would run concurrently. Pawar has also been fined Rs 50,000 on the charge of
rape.
