"This is the most satisfying moment of my life. I dedicate the victory to my family. The players have unlimited heart, character and personality," he added.

Italy won on penalties after the match finished 1-1 following an extra time period that saw France captain Zinedine Zidane sent off for a head butt on Marco Materazzi.
