The Sensex beat a hasty retreat on Thursday after the overnight 256-point jump and fell by 188 points to 10,732.13 in the initial ten minutes of trading.

MUMBAI: The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex on Thursday closed down by more than 151 points on selling by funds and retail investors.
The BSE 30-share index ended 151.67 points down at 10,767.97 points after touching a low of 10,703.00 points earlier in the day.
Similarly, the National Stock Exchange index Nifty closed 40.70 points down at 3156.40 points, after touching a low of 3,138.40 points.
