NEW DELHI: As the investigation on the Rahul Mahajan case gathers steam, Apollo Hospital authorities have much to lose sleep over. The Delhi police officers, who have already questioned three doctors related to the case, have said that they are going to question the remaining five who were part of the medical team attending on Rahul Mahajan.

Additonal DCP Manish Aggarwal told DNA, “It is premature to say whether we are going to take any action on Apollo Hospital or not. Due to paucity of time, we have only been able to question three doctors. We still haven’t gone into the details of tampering of evidence by the doctors.”

The doctors have handed over a detailed medical report to the Delhi police, furnishing details of the line of treatment they undertook along with the lab results. The police are going to look at such information as the time at which Rahul and Bibek Moitra were brought to the hospital, the time at which Moitra was declared dead and the time the hospital took to inform the police.

According to a police source, “The crucial thing is that Rahul was admitted to the hospital on the night of June 2 and his stomach wash was sent to the lab for tests the next morning at 6 am. During this time, he was administered medicines. We want to find out if there was a possibility of diluting the drugs present in Mahajan’s body with these medicines.”

Meanwhile, Apollo Hospital has created a wall around itself, keeping the media at bay after their name got dragged into the controversy. The officials at Apollo maintained a ‘no-comments’ stand on Wednesday.
