Arcelor and Mittal to meet: Arcelor

PARIS: Executives from European steel group Arcelor and Mittal Steel are to meet in the coming days to discuss a business plan Mittal has submitted as part of its unsolicited bid for Arcelor, the group said on Wednesday.

Arcelor said its review of the plan, which it received on last Friday, was continuing but that it had identified a number of questions.

"Arcelor anticipates that a meeting between representatives of the two management teams to discuss the Mittal Steel standalone business plan will take place in the coming days," the company said in a statement on its website.
