MUMBAI: Security has been beefed up at high-risk installations, places of worship and headquarters of political parties here in the metropolis following an abortive attempt by terrorists to attack the RSS headquarters in Nagpur on Thursday.

Speaking over the phone, Police Commissioner A N Roy said an alert has been issued and patrolling intensified at places of worship and sensitive areas in the city.

Roy said high-risk installations and risk-prone zones are always under police cover. However, extra vigil and additional 'bandobast' have been made in view of the failed attempt by militants at Nagpur on Thursday.

Security, particularly at headquarters of political parties like BJP and Shiv Sena, has been tightened, Roy said.
