NEW DELHI: Entertainment major Star on Friday told broadcast tribunal TDSAT that it will not give signals to any DTH platform till July 3, the next date of hearing on a plea on Star's reluctance to let Dish TV's DTH platform carry its channels.

The plea has been filed by ASC Enterprises, the owners of Dish TV. "Star has submitted that it will not transmit its signals on any DTH platform till the next date of hearing on
July 3," an official in the ASC Enterprises told PTI here.

The undertaking by Star means that it will also not be able to provide its signals to its own DTH platform, Tata Sky, slated to begin services soon. In fact, even if it goes for test signals, it cannot carry its own channels on the service.

In its petition before TDSAT, ASC said the "acts of omission/commission by Star constitutes a denial of request, which results in deprivation of the rights and entitlement of ASC as well as that of our subscribers to receive and view these channels".

The petition followed a government order in June last year that a DTH licencee should not carry the signals of a broadcaster who has been found by a regulatory body, tribunal or court of having refused access on a non-discriminatory basis to another DTH operator.
