The Pak PM said that it was natural for the states sitting on the "fault lines" and "disturbed" by the emergence of China as a "great power" to realign themselves.
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan PM Shaukat Aziz has said he saw "no evil" in India's nuclear co-operation with the US and emerging defence deals between them, claiming that the states "disturbed" by China's emergence as a "great power" were re-aligning themselves.
"There is nothing evil in that," Aziz said replying to questions after inaugurating a seminar here on Tuesday to mark 55 years of Pakistan-China relations at the Institute of Strategic Studies (ISS).
It was natural for the states sitting on the "fault lines" and "disturbed" by the emergence of China as a "great power" to realign themselves, and attributed it to Newton's theory that "every action has an equal and opposite reaction."
China knew what was going on and was "well-equipped" to meet the situation and the "the best diplomacy is quiet diplomacy," he was quoted as saying by The Dawn on Wednesday.
Ever since India and the US signed the deal on civilian nuclear energy, Pakistan has been asking Washington to offer it the same. In recent weeks, Pakistan has also been urging China to build more nuclear power reactors for it in addition to the two Beijing has already built.
Aziz said the Sino-Pak ties were anchored in shared values and mutual advantage, served international peace and would continue to grow.
"I see much more linkages with China in the coming 10 years. We see much more cooperation in fields of defence, space and information technology and trade," he said.
He praised China for becoming a great world power by dint of hard work.
Asked what challenges Pakistan and China faced to further develop their ties, he said the challenge would lay in "creating new avenues and looking for new opportunities" of co-operation in changing scenarios.
