Commuters on Western Railway faced erratic schedules for the second day because of the ‘mega-block’ at Borivli to enable work on the Borivli-Virar track quadrupling project.

Shifting schedules
236 trains to Borivli and 72 to Virar were cancelled. 42 Borivli and 2 Virar locals were stopped short.

Students worst hit
Many who had to take the Common Entrance Test had trouble reaching their examination centers.

Long-distance fiasco
Several long-distance trains were rescheduled to maintain the frequency of suburban trains. Passengers crowded station managers’ offices protesting the changes.

Normal on Monday

WR officials said services will be normal on Monday. But 12 long-distance trains have been rescheduled.
