NEW DELHI: Thanks to a new initiative by the Delhi health ministry, patients will now be able to get their laboratory reports on the telephone. The initiative will also be of great help to doctors who will now hear the report on telephone and then make their prognosis.

Delhi health minister Dr Yoganand Shastri inaugurated the Telephonic Patient Report Broadcast System and Medical Talking Yellow Pages, on Friday. He said that with this system, reports of more than 250 tests would be simply available at the click of a button.

Dr Alka Chopra, Director Dwarka Lab, which has pioneered the initiative, said the Lab also offers more than 35 specialties for the benefit of residents of Dwarka and nearby areas. It will also be useful for all those living around Delhi who have access to a telephone and want to reach a specialist in the Capital.
