Krishna expresses shock at Mahajan’s death

MUMBAI: Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna on Wednesday expressed deep shock over the demise of senior BJP leader Pramod Mahajan.

In his message, the Governor said, “Pramod Mahajan's death has snatched from the nation one of the brightest and most promising stars on the political horizon of India. He was an organisation man to the core who rose the political echelons on the strength of his dedication and hard work.''

''Shri Mahajan always valued human relationships over political differences. He was an outstanding parliamentarian and a political strategist and remained associated with various meaningful causes all through his life," Krishna said.

''It is unfortunate that death has abruptly ended his meteoric rise in Indian politics and public life. Mahajan's passing is not just a loss for his party, it is a loss for Maharashtra and the nation at large. I offer my deep respects to the memory of Shri Mahajan and convey my heartfelt condolences to his mother, wife and other members of his family,'' he said.
