FALLUJA:  A suicide bomber blew himself up among a crowd of men waiting to sign up to join the police force in the Iraqi city of Falluja, killing at least six people, doctors said on Wednesday.

At least 25 people were also wounded.

A police lieutenant at the scene, Ahmed Adnan, said 10 people -- eight civilians and two policemen -- had died and 15 people had been wounded.

Falluja, 50 km west of Baghdad, is a mainly Sunni Arab town and a stronghold of the insurgency against U.S. and Iraqi forces.

Insurgents have increasingly been turning their focus from U.S. troops to Iraq's new security forces.
