According to his advocate Nankumar Rajurkar, Pravin has always been known for eccentric behaviour, short temper and sharp reactions to any issue.
In December 2005, when Pramod Mahajan had gone to Ambad in Nashik district to address a public rally, Pravin shocked Pramod in front of party activists by threatening to kill his brother as well as party activist Kelkar.
The provocation was Pramod's insistence that Kelkar join them on the aircraft. Pramod managed to bring the situation under control by quietly requesting Kelkar to come to Mumbai by a car.
Incidentally, Kelkar who is Konkan division chief of BJP has been nominated as a candidate from the Graduates Constituency, in Raigad, the elections of which are due to be announced shortly. Pravin was reportedly upset over this since Pramod Mahajan made the announcement from Delhi on April 9, barely a fortnight before the tragic incident of April 22.
Rajurkar further said that many of Pravin's friends avoided him due to his highly unpredictable behaviour. He did not even encourage his close relatives to visit him.
It was after almost a decade after Pravin's marriage that his brother-in-law Prasad Pulliwar visited Thane last week. During dinner at Shubha Restaurant on Friday night, Prasad had requested Pravin if he could borrow his car and driver to go for a family trip. However, Pravin refused and suggested them to go by bus.
Early this year, Pravin left home without informing anyone. It took the family nearly three weeks to trace him from Haridwar in UP. However, given his unusual behaviour, no questions were asked when he returned home.
