Invent research skill through Avishkar

Pune: With an aim to increase the participation of talented students from the city colleges, which are affiliated to the University of Pune to take part in 'Avishkar' a novel research project competition which is organised every year at state level, the Board of College and University Development (BCUD) has decided to arrange orientation program at the all colleges.
The competition started in 2006 with an aim to inculcate the research point of view among the students at the young age.

"Since the colleges have just started, there are students who have taken admission in the first year under graduate, we have decided to conduct an orientation program for the students so that they know the concept of 'Avishkar' and even participate at the early age," said Dr V B Gaikwad, the director of BCUD, University of Pune.

In the orientation program, students will be provided necessary help and guidance to enhance their abilities to present their research work in an effective manner.

He added that colleges are expected to highlight the basic concept and the objective of the competition and give them information about the relevant areas in which projects can be carried out.

He added that amount of Rs 8000 has been sanctioned for the expenditure to organise the orientation lectures.

He also appealed colleges to intimate students to start preparing for the research projects for Avishkar-2014 and also asked to convey the guidelines.
