Housewife commits suicide after brother refuses to take her home

Pune: A 22-year-old married woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping from a twenty-second floor flat situtated in Nanded city, Sinhagad road on Sunday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Madhuri Vinay Andhare (22). At present a case of accidental death has been registered with the Haveli police station and they are probing the case. Madhuri who had come to stay at her house for some days. The incident took place on Saturday in Lalit building situated in Nanded city on Sinhagad road.

Dilip Bondre, inspector in-charge of Haveli, said, "Madhuri, who had recently married Vinay, who is a pharmacist and had come were newly shifted to city. On Sunday around 9 am she gave tea to her in-laws and brother and later went near balcony. She jumped from the twenty-second floor of her flat and later fall directly on first floor. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead. The deceased was newly married and was originally from Madhya Pradesh. Her brother had come to visit her four days ago, when she asked him to take her with him. The brother refused to take her home stating that she need to look after her husband as they are newly wedded."

He added, "As per her husband and brother's statement they claimed that she was upsets from couple of days. We have not recovered any suicide note. At present we are probing and cannot draw conclusion on reason behind her suicide."

The post-mortem report mentioned she died due to multiple injuries.
