The officials of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) called 13 students of PCMC-run Pimpri Nahar high school to the civic headquarters to inquire about the infighting among the students which claimed the life of 15-year-old Hrishikesh Sarode on Monday.

Shockingly, the administration did not inform the parents about the inquiry of the students thereby creating panic among them. The 13 students included seven boys and six girl students. The students were taken to the civic office after their semester examinations got over at 3 pm.

As the students did not reach home, the parents approached the Pimpri police station but were informed that the police did not call them for inquiry. This panicked them more and then they approached the principal of the school.

The students were at the PCMC office till 6 pm. The parents visited the PCMC office and protested on its premises. Security personnel had to be called to control the situation.
Uttara Kamble, education officer of secondary department, said,

“We wanted detailed information about the incident from the students and hence called them for the probe. We were ordered by additional commissioner Tanaji Shinde to do so. Though the parents were not informed, the school authorities were informed about the same.”

Victim’s parents demand probe
Parents of Hrishikesh have demanded an inquiry against the school teachers for their alleged negligence towards the students which led to such a deadly scuffle.

The civic administration has assured that it will conduct an inquiry into the matter and if teachers are found guilty of negligence, appropriate action will be taken against them.
