Nexus-ARTI India Helpdesk will be organising a one-day workshop to help NGOs and social enterprises who intend to achieve poverty alleviation by providing carbon finance.
Nexus-ARTI India Helpdesk (NAIH) will be organising a one-day workshop on December 20 to help NGOs and social enterprises who intend to achieve poverty alleviation through environmental sustainable interventions by providing carbon finance.
The workshop will be held at the Gunawatta store, Ramanbaug Chowk in Shaniwar Peth.
A joint initiative by Nexus-carbon for development and Appropriate Rural Technology Institute (ARTI), the workshop is an effort to equip the enterprises working on rural development to access the carbon finance, which facilitates funding opportunities to these enterprises.
“Many organisations are working in the field of rural development but are unaware of the financial assistance that they can obtain through carbon finance. This workshop will help them get acquainted to the process and thus make it simpler to obtain the finance,” chairman of Nexus, Priyadarshani Karve told DNA.
According to her, the NAIH helps social enterprises to obtain funding at a much lesser consultancy charge. “A large sum of money derived through carbon finance has to be paid to the consultancy that helps the enterprises access the fund. Through NAIH, this cost is cut down, which helps them to utilise the money for the intended cause,” Karve said.
The last day of the registration for the workshop is December 10 and the fee per enterprise is Rs1,500. The registration form can be obtained by mailing at arti_pune@vsnl.net or call (020) 24392284. “We are expecting at least 20 representatives from various social enterprises and NGOs from all over the country,” she said.
