Woman who jumped off her flat critical

A twenty five-year-old woman, Nisha Pokan who attempted to commit suicide on Wednesday by jumping off from the fourth floor of her residence is still critical, sustaining a head injury. A doctor operated on her fractured leg in Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital.

The Police recorded statement of her husband and parents who said that she was upset after her friend, Vishal Gambhir committed suicide in front her by jumping off from the 18th floor of his rented house from Oberai Woods in Goregaon (East).

"Pokan's husband Ninad said in his statement that he was not aware about the affair between his wife and Gambhir but he knew that they were friends and Gambhir used to come to meet her at her residence," said a police officer of the DN Nagar police station.

On Wednesday around 12.15pm, Pokan jumped off from the window of her bedroom from her residence, situated in Manish Nagar at Four bungalows in Andheri (West) when other family members were in another room of the residence.

She was immediately rushed Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hosptial. Pokan has sustained multiple fractured in her legs and head. Her condition is still critical. Gambhir was working in a private bank as an executive.

“Before committing suicide Gambhir was along with Nisha in his residence where he had consumed liquor in front of her. Gambhir wanted to marry Pokan but he was worried that he married to the wrong person and wanted to divorce his wife" said a police officer.
