In a shocking incident, the 22-years-old wife of a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) constable, committed suicide by hanging herself to a ceiling fan at her RCF residence, on Saturday.

“Nitu was the wife of CISF constable Krishnakumar Ram,” said police inspector Prasad Dharia of the RCF police station and added that the police are yet to know the exact reason behind the suicide as there was no suicide note left behind.

The couple hailed from Uttar Pradesh, where Krishnakumar married Nitu three years ago. There seems to have been no discord between the two.

Krishnakumar returned home from work at around 11.20am and couldn’t fathom why his wife wasn’t opening the door despite his repeatedly ringing the door bell. Suspecting something fishy, his neighbours and Krishnakumar called the police.

The police broke opened the door and were shocked to find Nitu hanging from a ceiling fan. She was rushed to Rajawadi Hospital in a critical condition and declared dead at around 1.33pm, while undergoing treatment at hospital.

“We have informed the incident to Nitu’s father, who in coming to Mumbai on Sunday with Nitu’s two brothers from their native place in UP,” said Dharia and added that the police will questions her father and two brothers to try find out the reason behind the suicide.
