Uniforms for smart card facilitators at Central Railway stations

Smart card facilitators on Central Railway will be smartly dressed with proper badges so that commuters can easily identify them in crowds and use the smart-card enabled automatic ticket vending machines.

Railway officials said that the facilitators will help cut down queues. As crowds at the booking counters increase, the railways will be pumping in more and more of these independently operated machines. In fact to encourage the use of these machines, CR has decided to man them with railway employees who act as facilitators.

The railway smart card, called the Automatic Ticket Vending Machine (ATVM) card, has been a hit with Mumbai's seven million commuters and has been extensively used by new as well as existing commuters.
