Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray will blow the bugle against the proposed 9900 MW Nuclear Power Project (JNPP) at a rally in Jaitapur on Saturday. The rally is to be organised at Mithgavhane village in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra.

“I can promise you one thing that the rally like this has never happened before in Konkan. This will be the biggest rally ever held in the entire coastal region. The people are pouring in, extending their support to Sena,” said Vinayak Raut, party secretary.

There have been banners and posters put up by the party, against the project. According to the Sena leaders, all the corporators from the city will be reaching Mithgavhane with the number of activists on Saturday. “We have been campaigning day and night, asking people to attend the rally. I can assure you that, except for kids, pregnant women and very old people; each and every one will come,” said Satyajit Chavan of Konkan Bachao Samiti.
