Two teenagers were killed on the spot today after they were run over by a speeding truck at suburban Borivali in Mumbai, police said.
The deceased Omkar Tatkar, 16, and Ninad Patil, 17, had left on a motorbike for a temple on the occasion of Diwali, when a speeding truck carrying cylinders hit them, police said.
The teenagers were run over by truck, police said adding the bodies were rushed to civic-run Bhagwati hospital for postmortem.
According to police, Omkar had left home at Kastur Park area this morning saying he was going to a temple with his friend on a motorbike.
The truck driver, Pramodkumar Mishra has been arrested on the charges of causing death of persons due to rash driving, police said, adding that further probe was on.
