Symbiosis International University has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with venture capital firm, IncuCapital, to set up an on-campus business incubator for early stage companies. The incubator will provide start-ups the access to value networks and venture capital.

“Our aim is to open a plethora of exciting opportunities for our students by way of live projects, internships and placements. Students will have clarity on how to start out as first-generation entrepreneurs, making on-campus learning more extensive,” said principal director of Symbiosis, Vidya Yeravdekar.

The incubator space for start-up ventures will support entrepreneurship on the campus by promoting the concept of starting businesses among students.

IncuCapital will support an entrepreneurial team with a validated business idea to get into operational mode with active help in business modelling, strengthening product and service offering, customer acquisition, team completion and marketing design. Professors and students of Symbiosis will also be a part of the process and will co-create an entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The incubator will also provide legal, finance and accounting, marketing, public relations and industry mentoring. Once the business takes shape, the start-ups will be evaluated for venture funding.
