The Kandivli police have prepared a sketch of the suspect who is believed have kidnapped a six-year-old boy from his building premises in Kandivali on Wednesday.

The missing boy, Karnit Anand Shah, who resides with his family in tower A, Pranik Garden, Mahavir Nagar, Kandivali (West), is a student of senior KG in a Kandivali-based school. Karnit went missing on Wednesday evening.

“The suspected youth is aged between 16 and 18 years and he used to visit the building premises everyday since one week and played with the children of the society. It was revealed in the preliminary investigation that the suspect gave chocolate to the children everyday,” said police inspector Sadhunke of the Kandivali police station.

“We also came to know that he would buy a new ball, in case any ball was lost while the children were playing. The day Karnit went missing, the family has not even received any call for ransom,” said Sadhunke.

“We have prepared a sketch of the person after checking with other children of the building who used to play with Karnit and a person who had seen the suspect. We are doing our best to trace the boy soon. It is challenging for us,” said Sadhunke.

Shah was playing with other children of the society on Wednesday at around 7.30pm. When he did not return his family started searching him. Initially, they thought that he would be with his friends in the neighbourhood but after checking at their houses when family did not found Karnit, they got worried and filed a complaint at the Kandivali police station.
