SSC students to get one grace mark for English paper query

The English paper of SSC board exam held on March 3 had one question which was unclear to students. For this, students would get one grace mark, said state school education minister.

Students who appeared for Class X exam of Maharashtra board this year would get one grace mark for English subject as one of the questions was unclear, the legislative council was informed today.

The English paper of SSC (Class X) board exam held on March 3 had one question which was unclear to students. For this, students would get one grace mark, school education minister Rajendra Darda announced in the upper house.

"The students who attempted the question would get one mark. This decision was taken by Education Board members. The authorities concerned have been directed to do so."

MLC Vikram Kale raised the issue that in the question papers of English as second and third language, question number 4 (1)(C)(3) and 2(C)(2) respectively and question
number 1(A)(1) in English paper as a first language was not clearly understood by the students.

Kale said each question carried one mark and demanded appropriate measures to avoid any loss to the students.

Darda said the Government's effort is to help students and avoid any loss in the total marks.

Kale also complaint about quality of question papers distributed to the students.

The minister assured to use better quality white paper from the next academic year.
