The Sena and BJP have agreed to spare 20 and 9 seats from their respective quotas.

The grand alliance of the Shiv Sena, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Republican Party of India (RPI) has finalised its seat-sharing formula for the February 16 civic election. The Sena and BJP have agreed to spare 20 and 9 seats from their respective quotas.
The Sena will contest from 136 seats and the BJP from 62. Though the RPI has got 29 seats, party chief Ramdas Athawale will have to share 4 to 5 seats with another Dalit leader, Namdeo Dhasal. Athawale has been demanding 30 seats for the RPI factions.
The three parties will meet again at Rangsharda in Bandra on Wednesday for a final discussion.
