If the state government fails to control explosive statements by North Indian leaders, Maharashtra will be engulfed in riots and I will not be responsible, warned Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Thursday.

“When I spoke my mind, my speeches were labelled as provocative and cases were filed against me. What about Nirupam, Azmi and Krupashankar Singh who are threatening the Marathi manoos in Mumbai? I warn the chief minister, deputy chief minister and home minister that they should stop these people,” said Thackeray.

MNS chief, who has unleashed this attack a day after the Chhat puja, targeted Shiv Sena’s executive president Uddhav Thackeray for forcing Sanjay Nirupam to start puja celebrations in Mumbai, when the latter was a part of the Sena.

“It was the same Uddhav, who asked Nirupam to start Chhat puja in Mumbai. It was the same Sena Bhavan, where a congregation of North Indians was arranged. Nirupam was once Uddhav’s blue-eyed-boy. Now, Uddhav talks about breaking his teeth,” he said, slamming the Sena for its double standards.

Making his intention clear, Thackeray said that he did not need security cover as he did not travel to Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, “I am ready to roam without security, but will he?” he said, taunting Nirupam.

Targeting Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi, he said, “People like him have come here from Azamgarh to make bombs and drugs.”
Meanwhile, Raj also threatened Hindi news channels. “Tell all your anchors in Hindi news channels that if my statements are presented in a wrong way, I will ensure that none of the cameras of these channels can be found in Maharashtra,” he complained.

Meanwhile, Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray retorted at the MNS chief’s comment by saying that Nirupam was very close to Uddhav once upon time. “Forget Nirupam, he (Raj) was also close to us and was eating in our house, and has now turned against us.”
