PYC biathlon to encourage safe cycling among children

Aimed at children from standard VII to X, the event will see students complete a 15-km cycling route and run seven rounds of the PYC Gymkhana ground. Around 200 students can participate in the event.

The PYC biathlon, an event to encourage safe and better cycling among schoolchildren is being organised by the Rotary Cycle Group on December 12.

Aimed at children from standard VII to X, the event will see students complete a 15-km cycling route and run seven rounds of the PYC Gymkhana ground. Around 200 students can participate in the event.

Children can win T-shirts, caps, safety gear. Energy drinks will be provided to each cyclist.

The entries will be primarily accepted at PYC Hindu Gymkhana and Life Cycle, Tilak Road.

Key sponsors Amanora Park Town, Gold Gym, Spinergy, Urja & Life Cycle, the Rotary Club of Pune, Westend and Westside will provide planning and manpower support.

The PYC will provide the infrastructure support and fitness expert Mahendra Gokhale will guide the students. DNA is the media partner. The pre-event briefing will be held at PYC Gymkhana on December 10 at 6 pm. It will cover aspects of better cycling, the event’s rules, instructions and distribution of T-shirts and safety gear.The entry fee is Rs50.
