Applications in 2 versions are helpful for Pro Tools students to memorise shortcuts & clear Avid’s Pro Tools exams.
A team of two from Pune-based Centre for Professional Media Learning (CPML) has developed iPhone applications to help beginners and professionals get master shortcuts for effective use of Avid’s Pro Tools software.
Jeevan Vaishampayan (managing director, Realizations Media) and Shreedhar Deshpande (head instructor, CPML and managing director of Realizations Media) have developed two versions of the iPhone applications — PTShortcutsLite (free) and PTShortcutsPro (paid).
A division of Realizations Media, CPML is the only authorised Avid Learning Partner (ALP) in India to provide advanced Pro Tools training and certification.
“We have developed these applications in two versions so that they are helpful for Pro Tools students to memorise shortcuts and clear Avid’s Pro Tools exams. It will also serve as a handy reference for professionals,” said Vaishampayan, who added that the applications are available for download at Apple iStore.
Currently, the CPML created applications are fully functional on iPhone and iPod touch. “We are working on native iPad version and Realizations Media today boast of 400 plus downloads across 35 countries, making it the most attractive download for Pro Tools users,” said Vaishampayan.
Deshpande said that he is among the first to complete all Pro Tool certifications given by Avid Inc.
“We have so far trained over 30 students to become industry professionals in just 18 months. We at CPML provide Avid’s official curriculum and training in Pro Tools on our state-of-the-art audio production set-up.”
As a Pro Tools expert, Deshpande said, “To master Pro Tools, one must remember maximum shortcuts with their appropriate usage. The repeated practice of these shortcuts helps students to act fast and efficiently in heavy workloads. There are more than five hundred shortcuts for various commands and menus in software. We were very conscious while compiling this huge data.”
He further added that the shortcuts are provided with necessary information, addressing appropriate level of software detailing.
