Pune man kills younger brother

A 20-year-old youth, Manjit Kalicharan Walmiki, was allegedly murdered in the wee hours of Tuesday by his elder brother over a petty dispute on Link Road in Chinchwad.

The arrested suspect has been identified as Sanjit Kalicharan Walmiki. A complaint has been lodged by the victim’s father Kalicharan at the Chinchwad police station in this regard.

The police said Manjit was a drunkard and had fought with Sanjit in the past. On Monday night, Manjit came home in an inebriated state and picked up another quarrel. Sanjit hit Manjit on his head with a wooden baton, resulting in latter’s instantaneous death.

Pedestrian killed on Telco Road
A 23-year-old youth was killed after he was hit by an unidentified speeding vehicle while crossing Chinchwad-Telco Road on Tuesday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Jaikumar Devidas Wankhede. The police said the incident took place in front of Lumax Company. Wankhede was rushed to a private hospital but was pronounced brought dead.
