Police raids net eight call girls

MUMBAI: A joint operation by three police teams on Thursday busted a call girl racket operating in posh city hotels. Four pimps and eight women were arrested in the raids.

Additional commissioner of police (west region) Bipin Bihari told DNA: “We got several complaints about prostitution rackets in various posh hotels located in the western suburbs.

Two women and three pimps were nabbed by two police officers of the special squad posing as potential clients. The cops waited for them in two rooms at Bawa International hotel.

Three more women were netted as they were about to enter Grand Hyatt Residency. Another police team arrested three women and two pimps at the gate of Grand Maratha Sheraton.”

Priya Mathias, corporate communications manager of Hyatt Regency, said, “No such instance has come to my notice. Moreover, if the women were nabbed outside the hotel premises, we are in no way concerned.”

Duty manager of Grand Maratha Sheraton  Devender Arora said, “I am not authorised to speak to the media.”

Bawa International’s director Karan Bawa, the son of proprietor GS Bawa, said, “I am not even aware about the said incident as I am not in Mumbai.”

Probe revealed that the girls were residents of Mahim, Malwani, Sahar village & Mira Road.
