PMPML bus worth Rs40 lakh recovered

Pune police have recovered a Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) bus that was stolen by miscreants on Wednesday night near the Hadapsar depot of PMPML depot on Solapur Road.

The police found the abandoned vehicle (MH 12-EQ-6736) at Somatane Phata on old Mumbai-Pune Road. But the suspects stole diesel from the fuel tank of the vehicle.

On Wednesday night after plying on the Hadapsar-Nigdi route, bus driver Rohidas Raut, 28, had parked the vehicle near the Hadapsar PMPML depot for another trip on the same route scheduled at 10.05pm.

After parking the vehicle, Raut along with bus conductor Sunil Khilare went inside the depot to have dinner. On their return, the duo found the bus missing from the spot. They lodged a complaint with the police saying that the bus was worth
Rs40 lakh.
