Ayush Bhatt, one of the accused in the sensational Adnan Patrawala murder and kidnapping case today alleged assault and harassment by the authorities at the high security Arthur road jail in central Mumbai.
       
"Ayush was badly assaulted on December 17 by one of jail wardens Nishant Singh after he refused to pay money for renovation work inside the jail," Ayush's father Arun Bhatt said.
       
Sessions judge RG Avachat directed for Ayush to be admitted to state-run JJ Hospital for medical treatment and for a medical report to be submitted before the court on the next hearing of the case.
       
Ayush and three other boys have been accused of kidnapping and murdering 16-year-old Adnan Patrawala, son of a city-based businessman on August 19, 2007.

"This is not the first time that the jail authorities have demanded money from the accused. Earlier also we had given money for Ganesh Chaturthi and Diwali. But this time when we refused to pay they decided to hurt my son," Arun said.
