The owner of a private security firm and 39 security guards were arrested on Saturday for allegedly trying to take possession of a plot in Lokhandwala, Andheri (West), without any legal documents.

Sources said all the arrested guards had come for an interview in the security firm and they were not even aware that the owner brought them for taking possession of the land.

The police said Mustakin Ahamad Shaikh, who runs a private security firm ‘Jet guard force of tiger security services’, along with 39 security guards of his company, entered a plot in Lokhandwala for allegedly taking possession of the plot. However, the plot was reportedly owned by Vikash Walawalkar, 51, a private developer.

“Shaikh told that one Harun Khan contacted him and asked to take possession of the plot and paid him money. On Saturday, when Shaikh reached the spot along with his guards, he found Walawalkar’s two guards,” said senior police inspector Dilip Rupwate of the Oshiwara police station. Shaikh and his guards forcefully entered the premises and asked the two guards two vacate the plot.

“It was found that Shaikh did not have any legal documents. We found that the plot belongs to Walawalkar,” said Rupawate.

The guards were produced in the Bandra holiday court and were released on bail.
