Listing out his priorities, newly appointed Pune district collector Vikas Deshmukh said that strengthening of the Citizens’ Facilitation Centre (CFC) and continuing the zero pendency project, initiated by his predecessor Chandrakant Dalvi, were top on the list.

Deshmukh was addressing the press here on Monday after taking charge of the district authority.

Referring to the computerisation of land records, Deshmukh said that the updation of land record would continue at a faster pace as most of the cases pending in courts are related to land. He also said that securing various certificates issued by the district authority is the right of every citizen, hence that work should be done on priority basis.

According to Deshmukh, rehabilitation would also form a key element in his administrative policy.

“The pending applications will be processed fast and adequate compensation would be provided to the affected. My experience in successfully handling rehabilitation process in Satara district will help me in dealing with the issue effectively,” he added. Dalvi has been transferred to the post of settlement commissioner.
