Nalasopara: Missing 4-year-old girl found drowned in water tank

A four-year-old girl from Gala Nagar in Nalasopara East, who went missing on Saturday evening was found drowned in a nearby water tank at a under construction site.

According to the Nalasopara police, the deceased girl, who is identified as Shrishti Mane, is a resident of Sainath chawl in Gala Nagar at Nalasopara east. “She was playing outside her house with children from locality in the evening. But when the girl did not return, the parents started looking for her leading to found her in a nearby water storage tank of a construction site.”

However, the residents along with the parents rushed her to the nearby hospital where she was declared dead on admission.

Some of the residents alleged that the building is being constructed illegally and the developer is not concerned about the safety of the people living in nearby areas.

Speaking to DNA Shriram Koregaonkar, senior inspector of Nalasopara police station saidm "The water tank was open and it is believed that, while playing, Shrishti might have fallen into it. We have registered a case of accidental death and are investigating at all possible angles."
