Uncle of Dinesh Majhi, one of the victims of the July 13 serial bomb blasts who lost his right leg, arrived from Bihar on Tuesday night to take care of the boy. The compensation from the state can now be disbursed.
Majhi was the only child from Saifee hospital who did not get his compensation cheque. There was no adult relative to take care of him for the past week.
His uncle, Nilesh, arrived from Baragobind village in Bihar. “I sat in a train on July 17. I arrived on Tuesday,” he said. Nilesh claims that he is Dinesh’s mother’s brother.
Suresh Konga from the NGO Pratham who met him on Wednesday said they will ensure that the compensation cheque reaches the boy on time. “We will also ensure that he gets a Jaipur foot before he leaves the place” he said.
“We are taking good care of him. Nurses have been doing all the work that relatives do, like brushing his teeth, bathing him,” said Dr SJ Bapai, assistant director, public relations and government administration, Saifee hospital.
