The Bhandup police on Thursday rescued the owner of a overseas manpower recruitment agency from a house at Diva where he was held for two days. The police also arrested the three kidnappers.

Vishwas Giri had been in touch with Ajit Khandagale, 32, for the supply of candidates. On July 26, Giri met Khandagale, who kidnapped him with the help of Kumar Singh, 21, and Vinod More, 38. They called up his wife and demanded Rs2lakh.

On July 28, the wife lodged a complaint at Bhandup police station where, as per directions, she told the kidnappers she would deliver the cash. The kidnappers told her to come to Diva to deliver the cash. When the trio came to collect the money, a police team nabbed them and rescued Giri.
