Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi is now talking about national growth and integrated sustained growth of neighbouring states, including Maharashtra.

Expressing his contentment following an overwhelming response from the business fraternity to his road shows in the run up of the Vibrant Guajarat to be held in January next year, Modi said: “This time we are looking beyond the state and expect all the states to participate in our growth story as Gujarat’s growth is India’s growth.”

The industrial growth of Gujarat is always compared with that of Maharashtra. Modi has always claimed that his state is ahead of Maharashtra.

After signing Amitabh Bachchan as the brand ambassador for Gujarat tourism, that sector too has registered growth in the state.

In the bid to woo the business fraternity from Mumbai, Modi said that the city has a special significance for the industrial growth of Gujarat. “It is not only a commercial capital of the country but most of the industrialists here are directly related to the investments in Gujarat. Gujaratis from all walks of life have their share in the progress of this city,” he said.

Linking the relations between the two states he said that if India is to be reckoned as a developed country Gujarat and Maharashtra — both known for their industrious and enterprising nature — will have to lead the way, accelerating the pace of development in other parts of the country.

He said that he welcomes all the states to participate in the summit and sign memoranda of understanding or other agreements with any company from other states as well as other countries. “We are providing a conducive platform to facilitate the national growth story. The entire world looks at an emerging India; to sustain the growth the efforts have to be collective.

Gujarat wants to lay foundation of this growth,” he said.
Pointing at the saturated Mumbai ports, Modi boasted of the state of the art ports in his state and announced that his government plans to develop more ports that would benefit from the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC).

Modi said that the self sufficiency in power sector, robust infrastructure and exceptional agriculture growth are some of the key factors that are proven attractions for the investment in Gujarat.
