The Maharashtra anti-terrorism squad (ATS) officers on Wednesday claimed that two Unicorn motorcycles, stolen by Naqi Ahmed Wasi Ahmed Shaikh and Nadeem Akhtar Ashfaq Shaikh, were shipped to Bihar on a railway brake van from Mumbai by suspected Indian Mujahideen (IM) operatives after the 13/7 blasts.

According to the ATS, the duo allegedly purchased second-hand motorcycles and later, sold them. "But they kept with them copies of the documents related to the bikes. They then stole two Unicorn motorcycles and put up the number plates of the second-hand bikes on them. They used documents of the bikes they bought to send the stolen bikes on a railway brake-van to Darbhanga," said the officer.

In a related development, the ATS has arrested 23-year old Shivkumar Hanumanta Mensirou, a resident of Naigaum in Dadar, for his alleged involvement in the bogus SIM card case. The agency has also seized 2,200 documents from him, which were meant for misuse and procurement of SIM cards from telecom service providers, the police said.

Mensirou is the ninth person to be arrested in this case.
“His role is similar to that of earlier arrested suspect Ganesh Tikole. He used to get documents from slum residents of Wadala, Antop Hill, Sewri and Sion and then, these documents were used to procure SIM cards. It was revealed earlier in the investigations into this case that the SIM cards procured were used by IM module members involved in the 13/7 blasts," the officer said.

Mensirou, said the police, ran a vada pav stall in the night and by the day, he ran the SIM card racket, along with Tikole. "Our investigation has revealed that Mensirou and Tikole's group used to make photocopies of 10,000 such documents daily. Mensirou was produced before the Mazgaon court on Wednesday and has been remanded in police custody till February 1," the officer said.
